My aftermarket dipstick is properly sized, and fitted. Exciting stuff. Just need to risk infection to get some high temperature silicone.

More exciting is I have now (hopefully) exercised the demons from my engine!

Ghost detector was surprisingly easy to use, although I cannot surmise how the advance fuction is supposed to work by trial and error. Realistically being built and dyno tuned I am not concerned, although it is nice to see the vacuum advance is indeed working. Hopefully my cold start issues are lessened. I also got a gift today:

Unfortunately the wheels for these are on super-duper backorder since classic industries isn’t shipping. Probably going to just get started on other inspection stuff while I wait. She is so close to her maiden voyage...

I find timing lights so satisfying to use. My car and truck are both equipped with injectors and distributors, so while I don’t ha ve to mess with any carb settings, it’s fun to still have something to dial in by hand .

The only thing I don’t like about tuning is my inexperience. Did I do it right? ... I guess so...
